| TanaSeybert Certified as G7™ Master Printer |
The IDEAlliance, an industry organization that validates best practices in media, publishing and information technology, has awarded us with G7 certification for our proofing and press calibration standards.
The G7 Masters qualification program identifies those printing companies and prepress service providers that have been trained to use the trademarked proof-to-print process. What this means for you is that TanaSeybert utilizes the most modern technology, techniques and process controls to produce a close visual match from proof to press and from press to press on your print projects.
G7 is a new way of calibrating and controlling any CMYK imaging process. Instead of measuring traditional CMYK scales for the four inks, G7 measures just two grayscales—one printed in black ink alone, and another printed in specific ratios of cyan, magenta and yellow. The scales are then measured in simple neutral density values, rather than conventional dot gain values. The gray balance can then be adjusted on press or corrected with different CMY RIP curves.
As a G7 Master Printer, TanaSeybert can offer you additional print predictability, more consistent proofing, faster make-ready on press, and a greater degree of "shared appearance" if you're repurposing files we prepared on another G7-based printing system. While it obviously won't make newspaper printing look as good as our sheetfed printing, the CMYK files will look reasonably good in terms of gray balance and contrast.
G7 is named for its grayscale calibration technique and the 7 ISO ink colors (the four primary colors and three 2-color overprints) it requires.
